Community pays tribute to Dr. King

By Jeff Bryan

A cold, crisp winter morning did nothing to chill the spirits of those who gathered Monday morning to pay tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., one of the most influential persons of the 20th century.
Members of area churches in the community, city dignitaries, as well as many others made the trek from McDonald’s, south along U.S. 41 to Ernie Mills Park on Bostick Street.
Once there, the celebration of the efforts made famous by Dr. King throughout the 1960s came to life.
