Teacher on leave amid inquiry

-A A +A

Parents upset school, district didn’t act sooner

By Jeff Bryan

Parents say their concerns about a first-grade teacher fell on deaf ears for almost a week before Marion County Public School officials acted on them, but that was only after the parents shared their case with School Board member Bobby James.

Juliet Jangdhari, a first-grade teacher at Dunnellon Elementary School, was placed on paid administrative leave Dec. 14 pending a district investigation into allegations she verbally and physically abused her students.

But several parents are perplexed why it took a week before action was taken.
