Community made Jazz Up happen

The Dunnellon Chamber & Business Association would like to extend a big thank you to the community for coming out to our 2017 Jazz Up Dunnellon Music Festival event this past Saturday in downtown Dunnellon. This event could not have been possible without the cooperation of many people and organizations, and we would like to take the time to thank everyone who helped make our night a huge success.

First, I would like to thank the city of Dunnellon and the Dunnellon Police Department for helping me through the permitting process, and for supplying the traffic sign on U.S. 41 letting people know about the event.

The “Chamber Chicks,” Amy Sharkey, Doris Magursky, Elaine Damiani, Joan Duquette, Joanne Mancini, Kathleen Wallace, Mary Jo Haley, Marylin Welch, Ruth Dykstra, Vicki Balser. Beer tent volunteers: Coldwell Banker Riverland Realty, Cadence Bank, Dunnellon Lions Club, and Kountry Girl Salon. Also, Deidre Whitt, Jeff and Judson Buchko, Jillian Capps, Alex Evans, Gavin Keogh, David and Mary Fowler, Crofton Highsmith, Jon Sharkey, Sue Webb, Charlene Williams, Barbara Roberts and Danny Hart. Board members: Mathew Baillargeon, Joanne Black, Sandra Gerhard, Jay Easom, Jon Kubiak, and Mike Pontius. We also had tremendous guidance from Martha Vaughn, a former Jazz Up event coordinator. Also, the co-directors of this year’s Jazz Up, Candy Craig and Lorie Howard.

We would like to thank our 18 musical acts: Liz Pennock & Dr. Blues, Community Swing Band, The Smith Brothers Band, R-Style, Semmes & Shaw, The Band Chrome, Bob Cubbage Ensemble, Cathy Dewitt & Moondancer, Cutler Spur and the Intruder Band, Shadow Ridge, Matt Prater, Keith Caton, Final Note, Cliff Sanders, Dr. John & the Medicine Show, Dave Adams Band, Nathan Whitt Band and Spechlis.

Thank you to all of our local businesses that stayed open during the event. We hope it was worthwhile for you. From what I saw, you had a good night.
