City passes on opportuntity to apply for state grant

By Jeff Bryan

Rainbow Springs resident Paul Marraffino sees a bright future for Nine Island Cove.
Some members of the Dunnellon City Council agree, but not the majority.
The overall consensus is the city cannot provide the financial backing Marraffino needs from the city to proceed in requesting grant money from the Florida Communities Trust (FCT). Nor did most of the Council members agree the proper procedures were followed in requesting the city’s assistance. The Council voted 3-2 Monday night not to pursue the grant.
