    He is the loving husband of Bonnie, father of James, Thomas, Mark, Robert and Timothy.
    A memorial service was at Dunnellon Presbyterian Church Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013.

    Maureen Anne Wescott, 76, of Dunnellon, Fla., passed away Oct. 10, 2012, at her son’s home in Houston, Texas while fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Maureen was born July 20, 1936, in Lourdes Hospital, Binghamtpon, N.Y. to Ethel and John Mulrooney.

    Elizabeth Armistead Hightower, 97
    Elizabeth Armistead Hightower, 97, of Concord, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2012. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 at Epworth United Methodist Church in Concord. Dr. Glenn Myers, Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
    Mrs. Hightower was born on March 18, 1915 in Montgomery, Ala. She was the youngest of ten children of Robert Stanton Armistead and Georgia Olivia Reid Armistead.

  • Eugene O’Donnell, 64

    Eugene O’Donnell, 64, of Dunnellon, died Thursday, July 5, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Warren, Ohio, on Jan. 5, 1948. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He graduated from Iona College, New Rochelle, N.Y. and worked as a plant manager of a nuclear power plant in Peekskill, N.Y. He retired in 2007 and moved to Dunnellon and joined The Florida Fish & Wildlife Association.

  • Frederick Christopher Stark Jr., 75

    Frederick Christopher Stark Jr., 75 of Dunnellon, died Monday, July 2, 2012 in Dunnellon. He was born Oct. 28, 1936 in Staten Island, N.Y.
    Mr. Stark served in the United States Marine Corp from 1954-57. He was a firefighter for the FDNY Engine Co. 53 from 1959-78. He worked for the Florida State Fire College from 1978-82 as an instructor and was promoted to Bureau Chief of Fire Standards and Training from 1982-93. Mr. Stark was currently a three term City Councilman for the City of Dunnellon as well as the vice-mayor.

  • Gerald O. Peloquin, 86

    Gerald O. Peloquin, 86, of Dunnellon, died Monday, July 2, 2012 in Ocala. He was born in Woonsocket, R.I., moved to Vero Beach in 1986 and onto Dunnellon in 2008. Gerald was a restaurateur in partnership with his brother-in-law Norman Lafond; they owned and operated the Annex Diner in Woonsocket, R.I. for 21 years. During their tenure in the restaurant business, Gerald and Norman introduced to the Rhode Island public, the famous GRINDER sub sandwich.

    Michael “Troll” Tousignant, 70, of Dunnellon, died Saturday, March 3, 2012.
    A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 17 2012 at Dunnellon Masonic Lodge 136, 20751 Powell Rd., Dunnellon, FL 34431.
    Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon was in charge of arrangements.

  • Margaret Lucille Ledford Pelletier, 86

    Margaret Lucille Ledford Pelletier, 86, died Feb. 29, 2012, after a brief illness. A native of Franklin, N.C., Mrs. Pelletier was the daughter of the late Oscar Ledford and Lexie Farmer Ledford and lived most of her life in Florida.
    Margaret Lucille loved life and was known for how she could say words that could make one laugh. Mrs. Pelletier was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses; she attended the Citrus Springs Congregation.
    In addition to her parents, brothers and sisters, Mrs. Pelletier is preceded in death by her husband, Rosaire Pelletier.
